My Toshiba satellite usb ports aren't working.?

They power up, work for in the order of 2 or three clicks of the mouse or print one page and then poof they stop working. I wipe out the notebook and did a recovery and the USBs are still doing like thing.

Answer:

I'd guess that perchance you've got defective USB ports... sounds approaching they are shutting down the power after a while.

Try connecting a *powered* USB hub to your laptop and connect the peripherals to that. If it works, your laptop has a problem deliver USB power... that's an into the shop thing or buy a replacement entity probably. That or use a powered USB hub.
i am guessing ur using windows, it is probally a driver issue. you should A, reinstall the drivers that the printer or mouse uses(they should hold come on a disk if you dont have them the might be on the manufacturs site) or B your os usb drivers are messed up. you hold 2 optons to fix this, if you did a recovery afterwards your drivers should have rolled support unless you did ur restore point after the problem arose. anyway go into m conputer and bring to the propirties. then you have need of to get to device manger, next find ur usb driver under the usb menu and see ego there is a roll rear legs option, but for then i would tr to reinstall them next to the disks the computer came near, if you dont have these afterwards call tobisha and see if you can win them off their site
