it be an accident when I pressed four buttons or so ayt once how do I shift it back?

Hold down ctrl + alt + up arrow
Try pressing the ctrl, alt and up arrow knob at the same time. Hope this help!!
Most common is crtl + alt + up arrow. If that does not work, check the manufacturer's website. It is different for respectively brand. (And you did not list the brand)
