One of my laptop buttons have stopped working.?

One of the buttons (left mitt mouse button next to the touchpad) have stopped working on my laptop. I press it but nothing happen. It's a Sony VAIO and I haven't dropped it or anything stupid like that, so I can't ponder how it could have happen. What can I do?

Control panel> then check the setting surrounded by mouse option, u may find wat go wrong or else something may hold stuck under the knob which doesn't allow key to press completely. hope that can solve
