Sometimes (like right now) My laptop eyeshade will randomly dim. Once I restart the computer it's fine. It's done this roughly speaking 3 times in the later 6 months or so, and I use my computer every single day. It's an HP. Is my blind dying?! :( boo

Check the power cord where it enter the computer, and all the method back to the outlet. You may enjoy a bad or deterioration connection at the computer power port, or somewhere within the power cord. My wife's Compaq laptop dims when it's not running on house current. I jiggle or push in the nouns at the power inlet to the computer and it brightens back up. It dims because to be exact the way she have it set to conserve battery power.

i think its a power in your favour thing, my computer does it too, usualy if i jiggle the mouse it brightens right support up, or just use the eyeshade brightening key (button)
