My Dell Inspiron 8500 moboard is fried. I want to get better stuff that was on the easier said than done drive. I there a (relatively) convenient channel to pull the HD and hook it up as an external drive...any to another laptop or a desktop?
Answer:
If you have another desktop you can in recent times pull out your sturdy drive and plug it straight into the motherboard via the IDE or SATA cable (depending on the technology you use). You can then use a program approaching MaxBlast 4 or Paragon Drive Manager to backup all of your files.
If your HD is fried too you can try a program call Active Undelete, it might be able to reclaim some of your files.
Buy a USB Harddrive case.
